Pinhole & the own technique
Photographs were attain by self-constructed wooden camera obscura
Black & White
Single photograph dimensions: 19 cm x 19 cm / 7,5 in. x 7,5 in.

By self-made camera obscura and modifying images patterns the author created photographs in the variable technique and time configurations. Inspired by the history of image registration, particularly in the context of working with historical techniques, the author chose nature as the main theme, focusing on its manifestations in the urban ecosystem.

Through this planned creative activity, the author interacts with the environment, revealing personal vision of the encounter landscapes. By experimenting, creator transform them and open up to new relationships that emerge in between.

The proposed concept’s results can only be achieved through a specific construction and mechanism of the medium. Its characteristics completely determine the direct and interdependent creation of the image closely related to nature. The dimensions of time and space undergo changes. Their line of progression outlines a labyrinth.

Nature, the camera, and I. This is a characteristic type of personal expression. During the process, I was struck by questions about why we are returning to historical photographic methods in today’s world. Can we still find places that have not been photographed? Is this solely the domain of our perception and internal images? The chosen method was itself an intense and powerful experience, representing for me an important step in shaping conscious perception. In my work the key was experiencing the moment, observing the environment, and the culture of working outdoors. Everything that comes before, after, and above all during exposure…

The “Sensation of the Beginning” project is an attempt to have a look into oneself, reconsider one’s presence here and now or even enter into a relation with the forces of nature, where in the way of impressions stream – the photographer’ and the object – stands a small wooden box.
